With the sun shining through the windows onto my face, I turned around slowly towards my phone to check what time it was. The faded light blue curtains were pretty useless at blocking out the light and my eyes struggled to open. It was 09.45am. I looked up to the ceiling and got up with a long stretch.
I did the usual stuff; showered, brushed my teeth, got changed and blah blah blah. As I had plenty of time to kill I went on Ravi’s laptop to check my emails, but was disturbed by Doug telling me to go downstairs and try and eat the chef’s food. He sounded disappointed as people never really turned up looking forward to trying what the chef had prepared for us.
For our Starter we had asparagus soup, it was nice but it wasn’t really appealing to all the students. For the main meal we had chicken with a tomato kind of soup with vegetables and crockets. It was almost the same for the vegetarians, except they had fake meatballs.
We then planned to go the zoo but we were all on a tight budget and not many students wanted to go in the first place. Maybe next time… I hope. So it was ‘Plan B’ - we decided to go and see the Berlin wall filled with lots of graffiti. We didn’t go very far because we were all cold so we decided to go to a bar and drank hot chocolate. It was very comfortable, filled with sofas and soothing music. It was really nice and warm. I even had a quick nap. I didn’t want to leave!!
The last thing we did was walked about Krenzberg. We found an Indian restaurant named “Amara”, and the people nearly dragging us in. We decided to walk further to see if anything was better, but there wasn’t anything else so we went to Amara. Personally I think the service was very poor although the food was great. I chose the chicken curry along with naan bread. I liked it but not as much as last night’s dinner, ha-ha.
We then walked back to the station freezing our pants off. I always tend to laugh abit too much so I laughed my way home. Today was a pretty laid back day where we got to explore cultural traditions not only in Germany but also places from around the world. I enjoyed today, and I’m hoping I’ll enjoy many days to come before I leave.
