Well these first two days have been ok. OK, maybe not - counting having to wake up at 3 AM on a Sunday morning, waiting in the freezing cold for the bus and later the teachers to arrive. I got to the college at 4:45 AM! Teachers are coffee fiends and are never on time! (this is totally incorrect- Doug)
Anyway, we went on a minibus to Luton airport, which I think is London’s budget airline airport. We had an hour and a half to kill before we had to board the plane, and we got on EasyJet. To tell the truth, EasyJet isn’t too bad. I mean seriously, when it’s so cheap to go to Berlin you can’t really expect breakfast and a TV on board, can you?
When we got off the plane we then took a double decker train to Alexanderplatz, which is where the East Berlin Television Tower is. The building is HIGH. My ears popped going up in the lift, and it travels at 6 meters a minute! You get a banging view of Berlin from the dome. Then we went back to the facility to unpack and adjust. I was sooooo annoyed when I found that the TV didn’t work! I’m gonna miss Eastenders and Hollyoaks for three weeks! But in saying that, I didn’t come on the trip to watch TV.
When Doug told us (Interactive Media Yr 1) about the trip, I signed up ASAP. My favourite words are “sale”, and “free”, and so when I was fully informed of the trip I really couldn’t refuse. And when I thought about it, work experience in Berlin would look REALLY good on my CV. So I went!
